About
a heron
In the past, the region was home to a large heron that graced the banks of the Magog and Saint-François rivers. A magnificent emblem of our landscape, this creature was woven into the daily lives and imaginations of those who encountered it. But one day, the heron disappeared. Now, we ask: what remains of this mysterious creature?
Can we hope for the return of what we thought was lost—absent for far too long? Beyond the ecological loss, what story does this heron hold for us about ourselves, about our own fragility, and the vulnerability of the world around us?
Bringing art
and nature together
Territoires is a project that explores our sense of belonging to the land, our relationship with nature, and the place of humans within their environment. This new landscape theatre piece aims to inspire a reimagining of the world around us, inviting a closer, more attentive look at the intricate elements that compose it.
Over four years, through both theatrical work and a range of community activities, Territoires will bring people together in an intergenerational and intercultural artistic project. It seeks to reclaim the urban landscape, creating moments to gather, reflect… and dream.

Artistic Programming
Inspired by various readings, artistic works, scientific and philosophical reflections, and time spent in the Eastern Townships, artists Kristelle Holliday and Amélie Lemay-Choquette invite you to a series of encounters that explore humanity’s place in the ecology of our planet.
Through what lens do we observe? How do we listen? What role do we play within the concept of “deep time”? How do we confront the sixth mass extinction of species? What lessons do birds have for us in this context? And how can the arts contribute to these reflections?
Under the theme of perspective, the programming provides the public with a space for discussion and exchange on the pressing questions of our time.
To the rhythm of the four seasons, citizen activities are organized into four categories:
1
Walks: (Re)discovering the city’s natural spaces. These walks offer a chance to become more aware of the places around us and explore our outdoor landscapes as the seasons change.
2
Workshops: Creative sessions where we reimagine the world through art. These open moments invite you to share your perspective on specific elements of the environment.
3
Lectures: Expert guests will address the themes of art and the environment, presenting new ideas for public spaces.
4
Professional Development: Opportunities for landscape artists to further their practice and engage with the evolving landscape.
